What to Wear: Guest Blogger Jennifer Rosson | San Diego Photographer

I am so, so excited to feature Jennifer Rosson from Style Your Life again this month.  She has come up with the most fantastic outfits for kids. I hope you are inspired by these outfits as much as I am. Visit her blog for more inspiration! (http://www.styleyourlifeblog.com/)

Take it away, Jen!

My favorite photos of my children are the ones that show their personality and are whimsical.

I encourage you to add a little character and personality to your kid’s next photo shoot.
Since Sylvia is my family photographer as well; I know she is very good at this and can help you brain storm some ideas.
These collages are designed to get those creative juices following.
Have some fun, kid around a little….

A Crazy Kind of Love – My 2 Lovelies | San Diego Child Photographer

Yes, a crazy kind of love.  The good kind of crazy – like a fluttering heart when I see their smiles and hear their laughter.  And, also, the bad kind of crazy – like the piles of dirty laundry that seem to regenerate every 2.5 minutes.  I would never have imagined, in a million years, either of those scenarios.  Ha, ha!

My two boys.  My two snugglies.  My lovey-doveys.   Meet Kid #1:  Sweet, soccer-aficionado, smarter than smart, patient older brother, dimply-cutie.  And meet Kid #2: Funnier than Steve Martin, stubborn like his mama, incredibly sensitive, sparkly-eyed lovey.  These two are pals – yes, they get on each other’s nerves from time to time (i.e. often), but I imagine that they will be the best of friends for a lifetime to come.  When I think about them, the relationship that they are fostering, how they will be together longer than with anyone else they will know, it reduces me to happy tears.

Bah(!) I don’t want to bring YOU to tears, so let’s get to the goofy pics.  Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

We start off with not so goofy ones – man, did I have to bribe them for these shots.

And now having a little bit of fun, because a photo shoot SHOULD be fun!

And perhaps getting just a bit “grumpy” now that I’ve subjected him to 40 minutes of photos and location changes.  Let’ just pretend that Kid #2 has gone into his “GQ” mode.

And back to goofy.  Kid #1 is already dreaming about the ice-cream I promised them.  Yep, they got ice-cream out of me for this photo shoot.

AND(!!) Happy Valentine’s Day to my husband David, who is not pictured here, well because you wouldn’t want to see a grown man holding a bunch of balloons.  I assure you, he is just as cute as the twwo kooky kids above.

Love – 4 Cutie Sisters | San Diego Children’s Photographer

Pheeeewww!  You were probably wondering where I’ve been!  January was a busy, busy month – I haven’t been shooting much, mind you – but a few family projects took up a lot of time in the middle of January.  Then the WHOLE Borgo clan got hit by the flu, so off to the doctor’s office we trekked with tissues in hand.  Finally, I’m beginning to feel almost back to normal, so I just HAD to post these images that were taken a couple of weeks ago.

Can these girls be any cuter?  Meet older sis G., the twins Z. and O. and the baby of the family, I.  And I hope she doesn’t see that I’m calling her a “baby” because I’m CERTAIN she would tell me otherwise.  LOL!  She is a spunky, energetic, and very adorable little girl.

Whenever I set out to photograph kids or a family, I try to capture the real “them.”  That is why I spend so much time with families – I especially enjoy working with families that have selected me as their family photographer year after year.  Only by getting to know a family and kids and making them feel relaxed am I able to capture their shyness, their mischievousness, their quiet energy, their funniness.  And in these following images, I hope you see how G. is a wonderful and caring older sister, how Z. has a great sense of humor, how O. is mature beyond her years, and how baby I. is full of little-girl -energy.

I hope you love these images as much as I enjoyed spending my time with the wonderful W. sisters

and here I am trying a fun BW processing technique – very pinkish, a Valentine Day’s BW conversion, if you will . . .
