Custom Portraiture: The Finer Things in Life #1 | San Diego Family Photography

I love pretty colors.  I love pretty packaging.  I love pretty stuff.  Who doesn’t right?

When I started my business several years ago, I asked myself, “What would I expect from a family photographer?”  Obviously, I would want someone who had proficient technical skills and could provide pictures that were properly exposed and in focus.  That was a given!  I would want someone who could make me feel comfortable in front of the camera and be able to capture my family as it really is.  Those two factors, in my opinion, are the absolute basics in custom portraiture.  But I also like a little “icing on the cake.”

I like making a purchase and noticing how a store or vendor has taken the time to proudly present their product.  Stores like Anthroplogie, Nordstrom, and  J. Crew, for instance, are prime examples of stores that not only provide excellent customer service but also focus on unique, quality presentation.

I love going the extra mile for my clients.  One way I add a little “icing to the cake” is by oh-so-sweetly packaging up my final product.  All of my Portrait Collections include a cd of images – I take great care in presenting the final cd of images so that when you receive it, you are anxious to tear open the box and squish that cute little cd case and tin to your heart.  This is what it looks like!undefined

Your archival-quality cd is enclosed in a my modern cd tin and then placed inside the specially made, green, cd case.  The case also contains helpful post-session  information: official release giving you permission to reproduce your images, instructions on how to care for your images, tips for ordering images, how to display and decorate with your custom photos.

And will these cute items arrive in just a plain ol’ brown box?  No they wont!  To see the final, final product, CLICK HERE and visit my previous blog post.

Next week, I’m going to show you how I package up and present my prints.  Be sure to come back for and check that out!
