I seriously love photographing this family. I mean, who can resist THOSE faces!!! Aren’t these boys so super handsome! Yes! Those handsome fellas belong to my good friend Mina and her hubby Tony. I met Mina, **ahem, cough, cough** nearly 20 years ago when we were in college.
People sometimes wonder how I get the fun shots of kids that have become my signature style. Well, the answer is simple:
a) I’m a big goof
b) You will notice my goofiness and start acting a little goofy yourself
c) I ask parents if I can borrow their kids for a bit, and that is usually when their true personalities come out for the camera.
And speaking of personalities, well, let’s start off with big brother J. He is such a talented, well-rounded young man. He has an awesome voice (he gets that from mom), he is an athlete, a scholar, an actor. What a great kid! Then we have middle brother J. He. Is. A. Character. He also sings/raps and plays baseball, but I have to say, . . . this guy has the BEST sense of humor. I can’t keep a straight face when he starts joking around. And, finally, little brother Z. Gah! Look at him, I just want to squeeze his cheeks. Those big brown eyes! Gah! It is clear that he adores and admires his older brothers, but he definitely can hold his own – he is a spunky one full of fun goofiness. My kind of guy.
So here are a few photos. Mina, Tony, J., J., and Z. you guys are such an awesome family!

Once again, I got to meet up with one of my fave families in the whole world for a quick, quick family photo shoot. I’ve known Dacely and Paulo for *ahem* over 2 decades. And that is all I’ll say about when we met. What I do want to say is actually quite obvious. They are a beautiful, beautiful family. Inside and out! I love to grab dinner with Dacely and chat and chat over a drink or two. I love the advice she gives me, I love her perspective on all things important. And I love joking around with Paulo much like a sister and brother would. Really, I feel like they are family.
So, here they are, my beautiful friends and their lovelies, big bro J. and little bro A.

I seriously photograph the best families in the world! They are soooo, soooo, sooo much fun to hang out with. At the end of each session, I seriously feel like I could totally be good friends with them and have barbecues together, or something.
Well, this family was no exception. When Cindy contacted me for family photos, I knew we’d be a perfect match. She mentioned that she wanted pictures of her family just naturally enjoying each other’s company. Perfect!!! I love photographing families that want and image to capture the love and joy and connections they share as a family.
Cindy and John are so adorable together. And you can tell they love spending time with their kids, big sis M. and younger brother K. Both kids are involved in a variety of activities. As a matter of fact, M. is a dancer and she showed me the proper way to do the splits, but let’s just say that I couldn’t quiet get my legs to do the splits with me. Ha! I did much better when K. was showing some of his martial arts moves. He showed me how to fall to the ground and roll away to safety. It was awesome!
Cindy and John, I loved spending time with your beautiful, energetic, wonderful family. Let’s have a barbecue or something, no?

Hello! Happy Friday! I’m working my way back to the all the sessions I didn’t blog at the end of 2011. Often, families ask me to not blog their images until after the holiday season so as to keep their images a surprise for family and friends. So, blog posts get a bit scarce at the end of the year, but I love to go back and revisit images and post them in the new year!
Let me introduce you to this beautiful family! I was scheduled to meet with them in early November, but the weather was so uncooperative that month. Cold, rainy, blustery winds. Yuck! So, we finally met up at the end of the month under much warmer and sunnier conditions! They are such a darling family! Just look at them! Denise is seriously drop-dead gorgeous, right? She and her husband Brian make such an adorable couple, no? And look at those lovely little girls. *swoon* Gah! Big sis S. has such a big, big, big personality. Her smile really brights up the whole scene. And little sis M. was such a cutie. A little shy at first, especially since she had been napping in the car, but totally wild and energetic as she practiced her running down a small path.
We had so much fun exploring this lovely little location – one of my fave spots to photograph in 2011. My favorite part was at the very end, when the girls were in a dancing mood and we all enjoyed the music in the background as we finished off the session.
Thank you to the B. family! It was so great to hang out!
