They Are Beautiful, Inside and Out: Sneak Peek | San Diego Maternity Photos

Michele and Mike.  They are one of the most incredible couples I know.  I love them so dearly.  They are kind, full of heart, full of love for their family, full of friendship.  And they are about to welcome a little girl to the world.

Jessica’s Maternity | San Diego Maternity Photographer

Photographing mommies-to-be brings me such great, great joy! You see, when I was pregnant with my first son, seven years ago, I didn’t quite embrace being pregnant. Oh, I was excited, for sure, I was thrilled to be a mommy, but it felt a little weird. I didn’t have a tough first pregnancy, no morning sickness, no heavy fatigue, a little back pain, some leg cramps, but not much else. Pregnancy was “weird” for me because it was so foreign, it was like having a third arm, or an extra pair of eyes or something. Needless to say, I didn’t want maternity photos taken. Nope. Nope. Nope. My good friend offered to take maternity portraits for me, but I laughed out loud and thought, “But I don’t look like ‘me.’ I don’t feel like ‘me.”

And now I regret that decision tremendously. Wahhhhhhhh! To capture that time in our family’s life – full of great joy, full of incredible anticipation, full of wonder – would have been wonderful!

And speaking of wonderful, here is Jessica.

The M. Family: Maternity Session | San Diego Maternity Photos

I wanted to get this blog post up for the M. family because, as you can see, they’ll be pretty busy in a few weeks and may not have too much time to spend in front of a computer.

Coleen and Roger are going to welcome a little baby girl or little baby boy into their family!  They want it to be a surprise for all – even the names they’ve narrowed it down to are to be a surprise.  I bet that if it were up to big sisters O. and C., the baby would end up with a dinosaur’s name.  Both of the girls are super knowledgeable about dinos!

Coleen and Roger, I’m thrilled for you and your family!  Here are some of my fave images from your maternity + family session.  I had such a great time with you and the girls!

Let’s start off with a family picture, shall we?

The beautiful sistersundefinedundefined

Look at that sweet smile! I just want to pinch her cheeks!

And I looooooooooove this picture of O.  She reminds me so very much of my oldest son, a little bit shy, very mature, innately quiet.  I wonder if she gets super silly at home, like my son? Hmmmm . . . .

Congratulations M. Family!  I can’t wait to hear the good news about baby #3.  Girl or boy?  We’ll see!

A Maternity Session – The M. Family: Sneak Peek | San Diego Maternity Photographer

I’m full of of sneak peeks as of late.  This one goes out to the beautiful M. family who crossed their fingers just as much as I did and hoped for clear skies today.  Yeah for a small reprieve of the rainy weather we’ve been having!

Lara and Gideon| San Diego Maternity Photographer

Lara reminds me so, so much of my good friend Katie.  They are both drop-dead gorgeous.  They are both tall and slender.  They both have these locks, this incredible, goddess-like hair that makes you just stop and stare.  And they both have the most disarming smile.  A smile that is warm and genuine, smart and vibrant.  Katie lives up north and I never got a chance to see her when she was pregnant, but I bet she looked as radiant and amazing as Lara does today.

Lara and Gideon are about to welcome a little baby into their family.  They don’t know if they are having a boy or girl, so they’ll have to start working on that name list ASAP.  I offered up my middle name if they have a girl.  Lara and Gideon know that I don’t like my first name, Sylvia, but that I love my middle name.  They also know the crazy story about HOW I got named Sylvia.

Let’s have a little fun – leave a comment below and tell us your favorite name for a baby boy and a baby girl.

Lara and Gideon.  It was such an incredible pleasure to meet you.  I hope I can meet baby soon.

The White Family | San Diego Matrenity Photographer

It was my extreme pleasure to meet Keri, Drew and their two boys O. and I. for a family portrait session and maternity session combined!  This family is so super sweet.  Keri and Drew really know how to have fun with their boys, who are very close in age to my two boys.  Big brother O. was incredibly patient and extremely cooperative – what a sweetheart he was with his mommy.  Little man I. was a bundle of energy, independent, and super intelligent.  My reverse psychology techniques didn’t work on him as I tried to round him up for a family shot.  Ha, ha!

Both of these cutie-pies are about to welcome a sibling into the family!  Yahoooooie!  And I get to meet the new bebe next month for newborn images.

And Drew and Keri.  Wow!  What can I say?  They are one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing.  They didn’t mind one bit when I asked them to cuddle.  Nope, they didn’t mind one bit when I asked them to “make out.”  *giggle*  And, then . .  they started dancing.  YES!  Dancing!  Adorable!  I am thrilled that I get to spend the “year” with them – since I’ll be documenting baby’s first year.

And the last thing I NEED to say is . . . . Holy smokes!  Check out the completely gorgeous, amazingly beautiful Keri.  I mean . . . really.  REALLY!  I’m speechless.
