So much light . . .: JinkyArt Workshop Part IV | San Diego Photographer

Since all of my sessions from the last 2 weeks were postponed because of the rainy weather (boy, it is going to be a busy November).  I bring to you . . . . the 4th installment of the Jinky Workshop I attended in September.  The first JinkyArt Worshop Sneak Peek was published in mid-September.  JinkyArt Workshop Part II was published in  mid-October.  And JinkyArt Workshop Part III was from just a week ago.

So, yes.  So much light I almost didn’t know what to do with it.  And I was shooting into the sun.  Whoa!  I had never really tried backlighting before and wanted oh-so badly to really get great flare shots with the gorgeous light from that late afternoon.  Wow!  Can I just say I’m in loooooove with backlighting.  Here are the images featuring a very beautiful family and all that yummy light.

Eliko and Peter | San Diego Maternity Photographer

I’ve known Eliko for nearly 15 years.  She is one of my dearest, dearest friends.  She was my maid of honor, actually.  I have always admired her intelligence, her style, her loyalty, her warmth.

I remember about 12 years ago, when I wasn’t yet married to my hubby (we were just moving from the friendship stage to the flirting stage), we were in line to see a movie and I was telling him about my day and how I had hung out with Eliko.  I started telling David, “Oh!  Eliko is just so gorgeous.  She is super smart.  She is a great listener.  She is so sweet with her kindergarden students, they all love her.  She is trilingual, you know.  She is truly a treasured friend.”  David then turned to me and said, “Can you introduce me to her?”  I’m pretty sure I glared at him.

And here are Eliko and Peter now.  Awaiting the arrival of their little bebe.  Both wondering if he or she will be have mama’s nose or papa’s toes.  Or mama’s sense of independence or papa’s artistic flair.

And I couldn’t be any happier for my gorgeous friend who is truly glowing, like she always has.
