A very beautiful family. It is always an honor to be a part of such energy, such love, such unity. The Schwank Family is just about one of my favorite families on the planet. And now there is more of them to love! Welcome Baby O.! Your family has been waiting for you.
Do you know the song by Elizabeth Mitchell called “Who’s My Pretty Baby?” I looooove that song. I love Mitchell’s voice – it is simple and sweet and powerful. As I was looking at the pictures of cutie-pie Baby A. I couldn’t help but hum that song over and over again.
Oh, it was so, so fantastic to meet Kelly and Tre. They are so sweet together and so sweet with Baby A. They knew just how to soothe her, they knew her cues, and knew exactly what she needed. Kelly is a natural, a total pro when it comes to mothering. Isn’t she gorgeous? Take a look at that smile – doesn’t it light up the world? No wonder Tre fell madly in love with her. I got to find out how they met, where they’ve lived, and where they’ve travelled (Kelly, I’m totally calling up when my family is ready to visit Cambodia). I also found out that indeed it is a SMALL world. Tre went to the same elementary school that my oldest son now goes to. And check this out, his 5th grade teacher was my son’s teacher last year!!! Crazy, huh?

A couple of weeks ago, I had the extreme pleasure of visiting Anna and Joseph in their beautiful home. You already saw a teeny sneak peek of Baby J. a few days ago. Now it is time to showcase his proud parents.
If you’ve seen a little bit of my work, you know how much I love, love color. But I must admit that black & white is my first love. As a matter of fact, when my hubby and I were just dating, he bought me a book of enigmatic black and white images. Ahhh, he sure knew the way to my heart!
Anna and Joseph wanted to capture their family in this timeless, classic fashion. What a splendid idea!
I’ve been staring at this cutie-pie face for a week now as I prepare the entire session for his wonderful parents, Anna and Joseph. Doesn’t this little man look dashing in his Burberry outfit?
When Anna and Joseph contacted me for Baby J.’s portraits and we set a date for the event, I was thrilled. Baby J. would be almost a month old, the same age that I photographed my own baby boys for their formal portraits – I would have photographed them earlier, but I was so EX. HAUST. ED. You see the second image below? Ohhh! What a classic 1 month old image – the archer pose. How that image takes me back in time to when my boys were truly just teeny babies.

I’m thrilled to share this beautiful family with you. You already saw their sneak peek a couple of weeks ago. Here are a few more images from their newborn session.
Baby F. was quiet possibly, the most relaxed baby I have EVER photographed. When mom Angie and dad Brendt arrived for the photo session, Baby F. was sleeping peacefully in her car seat. Very common. All babies arrive asleep to their photo sessions. We got Baby F. out of her car seat – she was still sleeping, got her out of her warm jammies – she was still sleeping, took off her diaper, she was still sleeping, propped her up for the first shot – she was still sleeping, put the elfin hat on her – SHE. WAS. STILL. SLEEPING. She did wake up towards the end of the session. Which was a good thing because I got a chance to spy her gorgeous peepers.
Meet. Baby F.
This big guy was pure baby squishy-ness. What a cutie-patootie! Really, I could barely take my eyes off of him to put the camera up to my eye. *sigh*
I wanted to try a few shots of Baby W. out in nature. Sadly, the morning was a drizzly one and so we didn’t stay out to long, but we were able to use a vintage, wooden cradle to keep Baby W. nice and cozy while out in the “woods.” Truly, my fave images are the ones of mom Danielle and dad John cuddling Baby W., completely besotted with him and each other.
